About Pixel art creator
Pixel art creator is a focused grid editor for icons, sprites and tiny illustrations. Choose a canvas from 8 × 8 up to 64 × 64 pixels and draw with a pencil, eraser, flood fill and eyedropper, using a starter palette or any colour you pick.
Mirror mode copies each stroke across the vertical or horizontal centre line for symmetrical characters. Every change can be undone and redone, your drawing can be saved in this browser, and the PNG export scales each pixel up to 32 times without blurring.
How to use it
- Pick a grid size and choose a colour from the palette.
- Draw with the pencil; switch to the eraser, fill or eyedropper as needed. Turn on mirror mode for symmetrical drawings.
- Use undo and redo freely, and save the drawing in this browser to continue later.
- Choose an export scale and download a PNG with a transparent background.
Good to know
- Grids range from 8 × 8 to 64 × 64 pixels. Changing the grid size starts a new drawing (you can undo it).
- Saved drawings live in this browser’s local storage and disappear if you clear site data.
- Undo history keeps the last 200 changes.
Questions and answers
Why is the exported PNG not blurry?
Each pixel is drawn as a solid block of exactly scale × scale pixels, with smoothing turned off, so the edges stay crisp at any export scale.
Can I draw on a touch screen?
Yes. Drawing uses pointer events, so a finger, stylus or mouse all work. Drag to draw continuous lines.
Are there keyboard shortcuts?
Yes: B pencil, E eraser, G fill, I eyedropper, M mirror, and Ctrl or Cmd + Z / Shift + Z for undo and redo. Alt + click picks a colour, and you can draw without a mouse by moving the cursor with the arrow keys and pressing Space.
